Have you recently walked up to Stonards Hill recreation ground and tried to walk through to ‘Old Pastures’ only to find heavy metal fences blocking your way? You can still see the tracks under the fences where people used to be allowed to walk.
We are trying to apply for Public rights of way (PROW) on this land which has been used by local residents for decades.
We have a video from 1963 showing sledging on the hill.
It is currently classed as green belt and shown in the neighbourhood plan as a green corridor. However it is owned by a developer waiting for a relaxation of green belt rules by our current government to permit building.

Interestingly the developer also owns part of the adjacent woodland which adjoins the Epping Forest buffer land but that hasn’t been fenced as presumably there is less likelihood of planning consent being given there.
In the meantime we need your evidence of use of this land.
A form can be downloaded here at the bottom of this page. Please complete and return to

We have attached a blank map for you to include with your typical walk to be added. This can also be downloaded at the bottonm of the page.
Please also sign out petition against future development of our Green Belt by clicking below.
FYI we have also shown a typical foot path which can be seen from Google Earth and government websites showing’Path (um)’..
Your help is much appreciated.
We will collect all the forms into a PROW submission to ECC.
