In the last half hour Epping Forest District Council Planning Committee have voted unanimously to save the Tidys Lane 150 plus year old Redwood Tree from being cut down.
The Tree Officer who prefaced his recommendation with the fact that he had a 'regrettable task' had recommended the council committee support the application but Committee Members asked a number of very insightful questions and really got to the hub of the issue that they were bein asked to approve this felling of this iconic tree on evidence that was not 100%.
We will be providing a full report tomorrow together with footage from the meeting.
