We are pleased to inform you that our petition to prevent the destruction of the Redwood Tree near the flats at Tidy's Lane has sparked significant interest. As a result, our Planning Officer, Charles Geddes, has been invited to discuss the matter on BBC Essex.

Charles is scheduled to appear on Ben Fryer's program this Monday 21st October at approx 11.15 am so if you can please do tune in to listen.

Within a span of fewer than 7 days, 936 individuals have endorsed our petition to prevent the reckless destruction of this ancient tree, which has been standing for more than 150 years. The Council Planning Committee is scheduled to convene on Wednesday to deliberate on the planning proposal that could result in the demolition of a significant 150-year-old piece of Epping's heritage in just one afternoon.

There is still time to add your signature to the petition by clicking the button below.

We would also be most grateful if you would consider joining the Society from only £5 a year and contributes massively to the work we do. It only takes a few minutes and can be done very quickly by clicking the other button below.

Thank you so much for your continued support and we will provide a full report of the BBC Interview and outcome of the Planning Committee decision in due course.
