The elimination of this area of open space between Epping and Harlow is vandalism. The whole point of the Green Belt is openness which prevents towns from coalescing and it feeds the mind.
It is noteworthy that open space is one of the main ways that those with mental health problems can refresh themselves.
I recall when the developers first approached The Epping Society Charlie Geddes and me met with them. They assured us the development would be surrounded by trees so it could not be seen. If it were to be built we suggested making the buildings sufficiently attractive so screening would be less important. All we got was a blank stare.
